Tribute to Mr Jobs

It's 1am in the morning and the 3rd day after Steve Jobs' death announced.
I've been studying for the whole day and I've decided to give myself a break and start writing something to pay a tribute to Mr Jobs.

I woke up as usual to get to IUT at 7.30am, sipping coffee in front of my laptop after a wakeup bath.
Logged in to Facebook and I saw Kenny's post on my wall.
"You were not gonna like this, Mr Jobs has passed away."
I rubbed my eyes, twice, just to make sure that I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating.
I quickly googled it, and I found out his death is wild spread in the net.
My heart sunk.
It was just one day after the whole new iPhone 4S has been launched and I admit that I was quite disappointed by the whole 4S.
We were all expecting the whole new iPhone 5 to be released but all we got is an upgraded iPhone 4.
But all of that doesn't really matter anymore, because when I clicked into Apple's website, I saw the portrait of Mr Jobs and underneath it's written 1955-2011.
I know from this moment, this can't be a prank or whatsoever.
This is the truth.
Steve Jobs has passed away.
The man who co-founded, ex-CEO and spiritual leader of Apple, is forever gone.
The man who used to give out awesome and incredible presentation during the WWDC had left us for another world.
I can still remember 2010, he gave me my best birthday present ever, the iPhone 4 as he was presenting the world the whole iPhone on the 7th of June 2010, it was my birthday. I can still recall that every 20 seconds I was scrolling the live blog from Engadget to catch up the latest update of WWDC on my old iPhone 3G.

But, there's no more Jobs' presentation on the upcoming WWDC.

Looking at the news of his death, I can't help but shedding tears.

I'm browsing at the pictures people paying tribute to him, leaving flowers and messages in front of Apple around the world.
I wish there's an Apple store around Toulouse that I could at least pay some tributes or leave him a note expressing gratitude but there's nothing I can do.

Reading from the articles wrote after the deceased Mr Jobs, I found that there's alot of people out there, sharing the same feeling as mine. People around the globe are paying homage to him, leaving flowers and post it notes at the Apple store, tweeting, Instagramming etc.

The very first Apple product I've ever owned is my iPod video, though I wanted a Nano for a long time ago.
Until this moment, I still think that the 1st gen Nano has the best design and nothing comes close to it.
From that very moment, I'm an Apple fanboy and brought a big fight into my family as I recalls.
I basically screwed up my family vacations in Australia 2005 because I couldn't get my dad to buy me one Nano. I was young, reckless and rebellious, throwing tantrums to my parents.
But a year later, I got my first iPod, at Penang's Switch.
And by then, my family starts owning more and more Apple products, iMac to iPad to iPhone and Macbook Pro.
The more I'm using Apple products, the more I want to know about the mystery behind them, and that eventually leads me to Steve Jobs.

I guess Apple is the only that could does all the magics and keeps you attracted to their products.
And certainly without Steve Jobs, Apple couldn't have done all of this.
He knew what we wanted, before we knew it.

Mr Jobs, I just wanted to say
You're the greatest man I've ever known after my father, even I haven't even meet you in person but the things you did truly revolutionized and changed our world. I will always remember what you said,

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.

Thank you Steve.
Rest in peace.

It's been a while since the last post.
Yes, I'm kinda busy in France.
I have all sorts of test almost every fortnight and today is the relax Sunday night after a 4-days break started from Thursday.
French people like to call it "faire du pont" which means holidays combine with weekends.
At the night of Wednesday, Nelson, Weyson, Eddy and me hopped on the train to visit our friends at Toulon to celebrate Eddy's and another friend, Hayden's which is staying at Aix-en-Provence birthday.
The venue was set in the middle of both city, well not really in the middle if you compare the distance between Toulon and Toulouse and Aix and Toulon.
It took almost 5 hours of train from Toulouse to Toulon while you can reach Toulon from Aix around 1 hour and 30 minutes of bus ride.

So, Nelson and I decided to crash at Wei Quan's room while Weyson stayed at Joe's and Eddy was with Koon Soon.

The first night, we decided to have steamboat !
Oh yeah we all miss steamboat alot especially when we thought about we can't have any steamboat in the coming Chinese New Year soon.
So, we went to the nearby Asian shop to buy the ingredients, well you know, like fishball and hotdogs cause we don't really have much choice.
Oh yeah, we used rice-cooker instead of the REAL steamboat, pretty weird at first but when I thought about the food, I just don't give a damn about it hahaha
After that, I suggested to get some Moët & Chandon champagne since it was birthday/steamboat dinner/party for Eddy.
We wanted to get the awesome huge 1.5L of Moët & Chandon bottle but it's a little bit too expensive.
So we got ourselves 2 bottles of 750 mL.
It was the first time for me to try the famous Moët & Chandon, after hearing so much from lyrics of Like a G6 and friends.

Everybody told me it's GOOD!
Hahaha I'm glad that I've made a good choice by listening to Far East Movement LOL

Highlight of the night : Nelson asked "Eh Dom why is it so long for the water in the rice-cooker to heat up ?"
"I don't know man, the light is on," I replied while checking at Facebook.
"Holy crap you genius, you forgot to push the button down !" Nelson roared at me.
"What?! I thought it's switched on cause the light is on man !" I fought back.
"You must be never handle a rice-cooker in your 20 years of life man!" Nelson laughed.

Shit, I did know how to use a rice-cooker, okay ? ITS THE LIGHT LOL

I got conned by the rice-cooker, to be exact, the light of the rice-cooker. SPEECHLESS.

Hayden arrived at the second day and here comes the real birthday party for him and Eddy cause their birthdays are just two days apart.
Wei Quan decided to have cheese fondue with friend calamari rings, hotdogs and boiled pork pieces O.O suggested by Nelson because they dont wanna waste the pork.
Koon Soon fried potato wedges which tasted GOOD !
Joe cooked cheese-covered chicken (?) and cheese curry with Weyson LOL
Everything was so cheeesy and we ended up eating A LOT OF cheeses that night.

We have this weird tradition to celebrate birthday since we were all studying in Malaysia France Institue
It's called toothpaste war.
It's pretty more like toothpaste torture, for me hahah
Every birthday boy gotta be tortured by the rest using toothpaste to "paint" the body.

GREAT NIGHT indeed, it's been really awhile since the last time I went clubbing at Malaysia.
Man I hate to say it but I really do miss Malaysia's nightlife hahaha

I can still recall the last album of Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight", which I received as my 17th birthday present from my classmates when I was studying my last year in high school.
It's been 3 years, since the previous album.
After the single New Divide, I've been waiting for this.
They have transformed, I prefer to say that they evolve, from the old Linkin Park to a whole new different band.
Since Minutes to Midnight, they are taking their album to a whole new direction.
Do I miss the old Linkin Park ?
Hell yeah !
But, as I grow along with them,
I gotta say

Got my new iPhone 4 from Orange 24th of June.

It was the last 2 units left and that time was around 6pm.

Lucky !

Totally love the Retina Display, the difference between the old 3G and 4 is huge !

No more pixels can be seen by our naked eyes, the highest resolution mobile phone !

iBooks made reading so easy, especially with the built-in dictionary function, never enjoy reading so much from now on.

Okay, let's start with Jean-Pierre.

He's the father of the ADAMs and he works as a barman in a hotel near Blagnac airport.

So far I drank once the cocktail he made and it's FREAKING nice.

He got like, tons of bottles of different kinds of liquors stored in the house.

He likes to cook and he got some skills is grilling.

I love the sound he made when he's laughing, very unique and amuses me all the time =D

Jean-Pierre's wife, Martine is a lovely, adorable and elegant lady.

Before coming here, someone told me that French ladies are elegant.

Yeap, indeed he/she is right.

She loves interior design and she's GOOD at it.

From the pictures you saw in my facebook, you can see how cossy and chic the house.

And, she makes HEAVENLY desserts !

I ate the MOST delicious dessert I've ever had in my life few weeks ago.

I forgot whats the name but it was something like cream pudding + strawberry, TOTALLY HEAVEN !

She got all her recipes from the internet and I'm definitely growing fats here ! =X

Julian, their 26yo son which currently working in the city centre of Toulouse.

I think I'm living in his room now by judging the stuffs in here.

Well I don't really know much about him coz I saw him twice, one was his birthday dinner in the house and Mother's day he came back to celebrate with us.

He loves cooking just like his dad.

Liza, 19 yo daughter which currently working as an intern in an hugeass cleaning company in France which I forgot the name once again.

She's chic, elegant and of course pretty lah.

Roxanne, the youngest in the family, 15 yo.

I'm gonna make this really short and simple.

4th of May : I left Malaysia and flew to France, to be exact, a city called Toulouse (if you have no idea where is it, please Google Map it.)

5th of May : Touched down at Paris and then Toulouse. Starts my new life for the first 2 months I get to live with a french family.

21st of May : Total five of us went to Paris, the capitole of France.

24th of May : Back to Toulouse and here it goes, the hectic life of university.

Time's up.

It's the moment I've been waiting for since July 2008.

I've spent 20 months living in "jungle" and all I've been longing for is coming very soon.

I can still remember when the time when my sis going to Australia for the very first time.

Those scenes flashed back in my mind.

I do remember my mom weeping.

I do remember my dad telling her to be safe and take care.

I hope they can skip that part this time.

Thank you mom, for spending so many time help me pack those things up.

I'm very grateful.

You know I might be annoyed all the times coz I really hate packing those stuffs.

Yes I do love trance musics, in fact I'm Trance-addicted. I don't know why people here classify trance music as clubbing music, au contraire I think they are totally different from clubbing musics. They don't emphasize on heavy basses, or rapping or shouting. It's difficult to classify a genre of music. Sometimes the producers could combine different genres of music and put them all in one track, how do you classify it then ?
Malaysia is seriously lack of trance fans, and very few places can obtain sources of trance music. Luckily Above&Beyond, a England base DJ got their own weekly podcast on iTunes, called Trance Around The World.

很开心，姐终于回来过年了

以往她都选择6月才回国，已经超过两年没有全家完完整整地一起过年了

加上初四一家人和阿姨舅母一起到韩国来个冬之旅，很棒的一个开始啊

期望一整年都顺顺利利

今年农历新年过得有点特别

A friend of mine ( Lee Shi Yean, 20 years old) confirmed had suggestive of acute leukemia few weeks ago. My friends and I was trying to help her raising fund and blood donation for her chemotherapy treatment while waiting for suitable bone marrow. She have to undergo 4 times of chemotherapy and now she has not enough money and blood pack for her treatment.

Her family has out of money after her first chemotherapy treatment. She need moneys for her upcoming treatments. My friends and I sincerely hope there is any of you guys who willing to donate some fund for her treatments and medical fees. Even a little amount from you guys is more than enough.

She still currently has not enough blood ( of O type) and still need 14 packs of blood now. It's okay if your blood type is different with her. You can still go to SJMC and donate your blood so that the hospital will exchange your blood with O-type blood for her, and thus her family do not need to pay for the blood supply. Thus, for guys who can donate blood please help her if can. She is now having her chemotherapy treatment at SJMC ( Subang Jaya Medical Centre).

Finals are done, I think I did "not bad" for all the subjects.
Argh, finally I can go back to my 45, my RE5 waiting for me almost 3 months !!
Well, after I finished my Chimie this afternoon, I felt relieved and the same time lost, mostly because I'm gonna miss those good old days in C306.
Next semester will be moving to Chalet Bangi, argh can't sleep late again, should get a bike soon.
Time flies, one and a half semester left and will be heading to France next April.
Can't believe I've staying at Bangi for 1 year ! I can still recall the first day I reached this place haha xD
From Subang Jaya to Bangi, it wasn't that easy for me la for the first few weeks.

Too many things haven't done. Basically, I've spent my whole week watching tons of movies. And yet I still got like 10++ movies inside my HDD, man I cant stop dling movies.

My RE5, had to stop at Chapter 3-1 for 2 monthssss, thats gonna suck.
I just received it this morning, this is just sad. Why do they want to put us apart?
Planning to buy a Dell LCD with HDMI port, seriously it doesn't cost as expensive as I thought. Prices of LCD sure gone a lot cheaper nowadays.

Slumdog Millionaire is an upcoming film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy. The film is based on the bestselling novel Q and A by Vikas Swarup. Production began in Mumbai in November 2007. The film will have a limited release on November 12, 2008.

The story of how impoverished Indian teen Jamal Malik became a contestant on the Hindi version of "Who Wants to be A Millionaire?" -- an endeavor made without prize money in mind, rather, an effort to prove his love for his friend Latika, who is an ardent fan of the show.

Slumdog Millionaire was scripted by Simon Beaufoy, who had written the script for The Full Monty (1997), which was one of director Danny Boyle's favorite British films. The script is based on the bestselling novel Q and A by Vikas Swarup. Though the script's byline about a Hindi kid winning the local version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? did not appeal to Boyle at first, he read the script out of respect for Beaufoy. The director was entranced by the script, particularly the implementation of the extraordinarily difficulty Hindi version of the game show compared to the American and British versions. Boyle also called the script a "love story", since the streetkid who goes on the game show had lost his girlfriend in Mumbai and finds that the only way to reach her is to appear on the show, which she watches religiously. By August 2007, the companies Celador Films and Film4 greenlit Slumdog Millionaire, with Fox Searchlight Pictures and Pathé taking up the American and international rights respectively, with Danny Boyle directing and British actor Dev Patel cast into the lead role as the Indian streetkid. Boyle also entered talks with actor Shahrukh Khan for the film as the game show host, but Anil Kapoor took the role instead. The companies are fully financing the production, which began on November 5, 2007 in Mumbai. Boyle is working with regular collaborators as well as an Indian crew in the country. The director plans to film partly in Hindi and mostly in English, expressing his love for Hinglish films as the influence.The film is being co-directed by Loveleen Tandan who has earlier cast films like "Monsoon Wedding" and "Brick Lane".

The film's music has been composed by the Indian music composer A. R. Rahman. There is a song during the end credits where the entire cast breaks out into a dance number, which has already become an instant hit with the critics.. Rahman has collaborated with M.I.A. on a song for the score, which also features her single "Paper Planes". In a CBC interview, the director Danny Boyle says she was a "gift" to the project's soundtrack stating "We asked her if she'd come and sing on one of these songs - It's lovely the way these things arrive, and extraordinary how they work out." Festivals and Awards

The film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and received very positive reviews. Boyle announced that he made minor re-edits before its screening at the 33rd Toronto International Film Festival, where it went on to win the Cadillac People's Choice Award, voted on by festival audiences. Several prominent critics such as Roger Ebert have claimed that the film is a strong contender at the Academy Awards. It is set to close the London Film Festival next, on October 30 before its wide release.

This movie is a chef-d'œuvre, which I can assure you. Danny Boyle which directed the movie, did a brilliant job! He didn't let me down, from Sunshine to Slumdog Millionaire. This one is going to shine at Oscar, Golden Globe or whatever awards. I will rate this move 9 over 10.

My Pre-France programme started from 6th of July to 30th of December. The subjects we had at Semester 1 were Physics, Mathematics, Basic Electricity, Malaysian Studies and certainly French.

Okay lets start from French.
Kinda lucky to get professors like Mlle Catherine Liu, Mlle Larissa and Mdm Houda.
Yes your eyes didn't fool you. One of my French professors is chinese! I guess the word "incroyable" can be used here. She was bornt at Shanghai I think and spent her life at France which I've no idea. I must say, she is cute ! xD From some angles, she looks like Jessica Alba. ZOMG ! Hell yeah man! At least all of my roommates agreed! So you must be thinking, "How the hell you can concentrate at the class if your professor looks like Jessica Alba?". xD Don't worry, that's not a problem for me. So she is my French professor. Sorry in French we used the word "Professeur" instead of "Lecturer". It's sort of hilarious during her lessons. Sometimes we talked in Chinese, she can understand what were we talking. For the first time, we were all stunned for 5 secs. "Holy cow, she can speak chinese !" Nelson said that to me after she gave us the comment about some random topics we talked during the class. You see, there is a guy named Joe at my group and he barely speaks chinese. So, that day I was trying to explain some French grammars to him using English and I phailed. LOL So I decided to use Cantonese and Mlle Catherine somehow heard our conversation. So she approached us. When I saw her, I was like "Shit I should use French or English!" But then, she said something unexpected. Guess what ?
"Vous voulez parler en Canto." That means "You can speak in Cantonese, I can understand." ._________________. I was stunned for 10 secs. "D.... D'accord, professeur."

And for Mlle Larissa. IMHO, sometimes I really worried about her patience. Shes like a bloody timebomb man for the first time I saw her. She speaks French and shes from Mahroc (I totally forgot the spelling, later I'll google it ). She doesn't look like those typical French chicks which got blond hair and I guess a curvy body ? (Sorry xD) Well, actually shes a lil bit plump but she had those killer eyes ! Omgosh you can easily got stunned by them seriously. I remembered theres were a few times I didn't finish her homework, holy cow she dun even need to spare a word, just one look I felt like "OMG IM SO DEAD!!!!" But she turns out to be a good teacher in the end when I finally get to know her more. She is a dedicated teacher. I can see that from those assignments she gave us although I didn't finish some of them. Je suis désolé Mlle Larissa ;D

The final day of lecturer, Mlle Catherine and Larissa actually made us some chocolate cakes. They were really nice la weih, I mean don't compare to those Secret Recipe lar, do your lecturers bake cake for you ? Don't even think about it! Thanks a lot for the cake, Mlle Catherine and Mlle Larissa, elle était vraiment delicieux !

Hmm.. Mdm Houda... I must say, I hate her lessons but I must say her lessons did save my ass from failing my DELF A2. Thanks a lot for the short essays she asked us to write. BUT, her lessons were super duper uber boring ! Holy cow shes the only lecturer that uses English during French lessons. And we don't really listen to what she taught xD

Msier Khalid, oppps it should be Dr. Khalid. The only PhD. holder from our programme. Okay let me tell you something, this guy is BRILLIANT! I heard they said hes holding 2 Phds! 2! Not one, un, satu or 一! It's two! I din know he was so uber pro man until they told me that. The first few weeks, he taught us about those algebraics and I was like "Hahaha I learnt that all during SAM.. So wth I dun give a damn xD" But the next chapter was a total disaster for me! Friggin` Geometry! ARGH! French syllabus don't give a damn about calculations, what they care is proving. To be honest, I barely used my calculator for Maths. You guys should take a look at my Maths exercises, all you can see are those sentences without figures! Crap! They love questions about proving how these two bloody lines are perpendicular, are they intersect to each other or to another plan. Crap! Oh yeah I forgot my another Maths lecturer, Msier Mourad, which only gives us lectures every Monday morning 8 a.m. Hes a funny guy and very friendly to his students. I don't usually pay attention during his lectues and I just copied all the notes he gave us. I barely can concentrate during his lecture, sleepy lar what to do ?

"You can't imagine hell until you see hell!" I remember this phrase was given to us during one of our Basic Electricity lectures by Msier Mahmood. Hes from Iraq if I were not mistaken. Yeap, Iraq! Your eyes didn't deceive you. Hes damn tall, around 190cm and he can speak English and French bloody well. I love the way he talks, the accent makes you feel "Aww this fella can totally own you by his speech ! xD" He should really consider taking MC or DJ as a part time job. So he teaches us Basic Electricity which is not basic AT ALL! This subject should be renamed lar! I got 5.5 marks for my Test 1. Crappppp! Test 1, owned all of the Pre-France students. When I looked at those circuits, I was totally blank and three words popped out "WTF?!". I'm pretty sure that more than 93.281384% of our batch felt the same way, but only one exception, my roommate Teo. This guy is a nut, he got the highest among all of us, scored 14.5 out of 20. Only 3 or 4 people managed to pass that test. Test 1 totally killed all my interest on Basic Electricity. For the first time I felt so depress about my academic results. Until Msier Mahmood told us that phrase. "Pass my test or you are going to be so dead in France."

My physics lecturer, Msier Fabien. A typical French guy who loves football, loves Zidane and HATES Materrazi. Hes a good lecturer but somehow he can't keep track of his schedule and ALWAYS late for his class. His attendance was worst than his students. ROFL Je suis malade x.x hahaha inside joke xD
But he really impressed me by the way he talked, always tell us about things at France and reminds me of my secondary school Maths and Add Maths teacher, Mr Tan Sin Hoo. Both of them give lectures without looking at the paper, they can simply write those complicated equations without having any second thought. Hes bloody good!

Guess thats all for all my lecturers. Damn wordy lar xD

每個人心中都有一封寄不出的情書，
不管是寄到天涯，還是...

跨越六十年的七封情書追尋一輩子的音樂夢想

六十多年前，台灣光復，日本人撤離。一名日籍男老師隻身搭上了離開台灣的船隻，也離開了他在台灣的戀人：友子。無法當面說出對友子的感情，因此，他把懷念與愛戀化成字句，寫在一張張的信紙上。

六十多年後，台灣的樣貌早已完全改變，各個角落的人為生活而努力，幾個活在不同角落的小人物各自懷抱音樂夢想：失意樂團主唱阿嘉、只會彈月琴的老郵差茂伯、在修車行當黑手的水蛙、唱詩班鋼琴伴奏大大、小米酒製造商馬拉桑、以及交通警察勞馬父子，這幾個不相干的人，竟然要為了度假中心演唱會而組成樂團，並在三天後表演，這點讓日本來的活動公關友子大為不爽，對這份工作失望透頂，每天頂著臭臉的友子也讓待過樂團的阿嘉更加不高興，整個樂團還沒開始練習就已經分崩離析……。

老郵差茂伯摔斷了腿，於是將送信大任交阿嘉手上，不過阿嘉每天除了把信堆在自己房裡外，什麼都沒做，他在郵件堆中找到了一個來自日本，寫著日據時代舊址「恆春郡海角七號番地」的郵包，他好奇打開郵包，發現裡面的信件都是日文寫的，根本看不懂，因此不以為意的他，又將郵包丟到床底下，假裝什麼事都沒發生。

演出的日期慢慢接近，這群小人物發現，這可能是他們這輩子唯一可以上台實現他們音樂夢想的時刻，每個人開始著手練習，問題是阿嘉跟友子之間的火藥味似乎越來越重，也連帶影響樂團的進度。終於，在一場鎮上的婚宴，大家借著酒後吐真言，原來阿嘉跟友子兩人都是孤獨的異鄉人，解開心結的兩人發現了怒氣下所隱藏的情愫，於是發展出了一夜情。

在阿嘉的房裡，友子看到了日本來的郵包，發現那居然是來自六十年前七封未及寄出的情書，她要阿嘉務必要把郵包送到主人手上，然而，日本歌手要來了、郵包上的地址早就不存在、第二首表演樂曲根本還沒著落、而貝斯手茂伯依然不會彈貝斯……。

而友子，在演唱會結束後，也要隨著歌手返回日本，開始新的生活。

阿嘉終於決定打起精神，重整樂團，他們的音樂夢是否能夠實現？沉睡了六十年的情書是否會安然送到信件的主人「友子」手中？而阿嘉跟友子的戀情，是否能夠繼續發展下去？……

人只能活一回，夢想卻有無數個，唯有放手一搏，才能知道機會屬不屬於自己……。
